Boris Strugatsky, who left in the 80th year of his life, did not recognize a comforting lie

We lost the last Strugatsky, Boris. Now they both went to other worlds, like the people they once thought were. The demiurges and mockery of the Strugatsky are the last of the Mogican, from an unfamiliar and lost in the traditions of the tribe. “Beautiful and wise as gods, and sad, like the inhabitants of the earth” (Bulat Okudzhava). The most incredulous and gloomy of the sixties was, of course, Boris Strugatsky. His brother Arkady saved the satire for a long time. Flapping pain and deep ice stream of sadness in their novels - from Boris.
We understood this when he was left alone and wrote under the pseudonym S. Vititsky "Search for destiny, or the twenty -seventh ethics theorem." Opening traps and gaps, grief and abyss of “socialism with a human face” and the notorious communism, the surviving Boris Natanovich managed to look into the perestroika and post -perestroika reality, into our future and did not gain pride or hope there. The honest intellectual Stas Krasnogorov has a terrible force that sweeps all obstacles from his path, even his beloved wife Lariska. And all this is by no means for him to become an ideal president, he took away the killers-basters from farmers, eradicated corruption and created something large, pure and present from the country. For another, for terrible and shameful. He survived the blockade and reached the very top only in order to withdraw from the coma of his friend, cynic Vitovt, who makes a “sausage from humanity”, preparing for the silence of military laboratories of submissive clones from the genetic material of his friends - in parallel with preparation for honest elections. And when the hero understands this and refuses to fulfill the will of not Christian, but hellish rock, rock immediately kills him.
According to the Strugatsky, there is also no truth not only on Earth, but also higher. Cosmos is hostile to humanity, it is not even neutral. When we reach the clue to the secrets of the universe, she will go on the attack, frightening, torturing, blackmailing.

Strugatsky are gloomy. They draw the past, and it turns out to be the bloody utopia of Arcanar, where they rape, kill scribes and torture in a cheerful tower. And a man from the distant future, Anton progressor, eventually spits on all the instructions and picks up a sword in his hands. It all starts in outer space from the sword - and it ends, and it will not be boring there. Because super -enemy will fly to save us, as in "ugly swans." They will insult, make children, turn wine into water, arrange endless rain, cut a square hole in the clouds, and people will drain from their saviors after their oppressors along the wet highway, and the children will immediately grow up and the city will melt. Or it will be even worse: as in a “picnic on the sidelines”, super -civilization will leave a lot of useful, useless and simply murderous objects.
The earth under the feet is unsteady; Progress will divide people into two groups that will not be able to find a common language: people and people; Cosmos is dangerous for a person, and there will be no happiness, Boris Natanovich did not say in any interview that everything would be fine in the future.
But there is a way out: humanity, courage and dignity. And three times, Maxim Kammerer is right, when he climbs on the planet Saraksh in someone else's war and explodes the ideological center, charging towers, which torment, but do not folly thinking people-geeks. We, geeks that grew up under the canopy of Soviet propaganda, know what we say. With the truth, we are famous, if only there would be no comforting lies.
And now the will of their favorite writers is a poem with which they end their “distant rainbow”: “When, like dark water, dashing, fierce trouble was your chest, you, without bowing your head, looked in the slot of blue and continued the path” (Samuel Marshak).
