On the territory of penal colony No. 6 in Kopeisk, Chelyabinsk region, there are currently four buses with riot police, relatives of the convicts report. An armed riot police unit passed through the barrier, and now screams and noise are heard from there. Looks like a cleanup. Relatives are not told anything about what is happening on the territory of the colony; they stand at the barrier - they are not allowed further - and are worried about the life and health of the prisoners.
According to information from the zone, for several days in a row, a detachment of convicts consisting of more than 300 people refuses to enter living quarters as a sign of protest against torture in the colony. They silently lined up in ranks for several hours, standing in a dense mass in the cold. They also refuse food. They say we will die of hunger or cold, but we will achieve the abolition of torture, bullying, and extortion.
Torture in Correctional Colony No. 6 means hours of marching on the street, beating up prisoners; did not greet the guard properly - he was sent to the punishment cell; extortion of so-called humanitarian aid from relatives.

In the GUFSIN system of the Chelyabinsk region, the situation with the rights of prisoners has long been tense to the limit. I declare: WE are against violence and repression, and we believe that all attempts from one side or another to destabilize the situation, create a conflict between relatives of prisoners and representatives of the state must stop immediately! Representatives of the public, first of all the regional Commissioner, as well as employees of the office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, must, must, become involved in the case. Escalation and aggression will not lead to good, dialogue is needed. A protest action, and such a massive one, did not arise out of the blue. And legends about “authorities” are generally inappropriate here - what kind of authorities? Name them by name and address... But the fact that alarming signals were constantly coming from this colony, and the fact that local supervisors and controls almost did not react - this, perhaps, is one of the factors that led to this emergency. Now we need to stabilize the situation as much as possible. According to Trufanova, the only requirement was to call the regional prosecutor and admit him to the punishment cell, where sometimes it is not so much regime violators as those who disagree with the actions of the administration that are thrown. And here, without public control, it will only get worse. We need a commission with the participation of both the PMC and relatives.
