Based on the materials of the criminal case, 42 policemen, seven soldiers and only two civilians were recognized as “mass riots” in Bolotnaya Square. The New Times found a man set by an incendiary mixture, talked with those who turned to the doctors for help and whose statements the investigating committee did not react, and asked questions to the riot police officers

Two officially victims of civilians are 21-year-old student Pavel Glazkov and 74-year-old Valentin Yastrubinetsky.
Pavel Glazkov, who, according to the investigation, one of the demonstrators fell into the back of the head with a stone, refused to communicate with The New Times. Pensioner Yastrubinetsky agreed. It is his case that is of greatest interest. The fact is that Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which is accused of all the defendants in the “swamp business”, stipulates that mass riots should be accompanied by “violence, pogroms, arson, the use of firearms, explosives or explosive devices, as well as the provision of armed resistance to a representative of power”. According to lawyers, it is precisely a set of actions, one “use of violence” to qualify riots as “mass” is not enough. And on the ships in the “swamp case” that began in November, the prosecution confidently says that there were “arson” on the square. As evidence, the story of Valentin Yastrubinetsky is given.
Cometle named after Comrade Molotov
“I went through the house for a month. It was terribly painful: when I lowered my leg off the sofa, I seemed to have been pricked a thousand needles from the inside. With difficulty he began to walk, first on crutches, then with a wand. Here are the traces, they were already pale, there was a continuous crust, ”Yastrubinetsky lifts his leg and shows the shin. There are dark rough traces of burn.

He talks about what happened to him on May 6 in Bolotnaya Square, and even with a smile - as about the curous case. Although there was little fun - the doctors then found a thermal burn of the I - II degree in 5 % of the body surface. The left and right lower legs, the left forearm and the brush were injured.
It was so. On the small Stone Bridge, from where the turn right, to the embankment leading to Bolotnaya Square, Yastrubinetsky turned out to be earlier than the rest of the column. At first I decided to go to the square, but I saw that the crowd from the scene built at the end of the embankment reached back - towards the main march. He turned. And there, in front of a police cordon, standing an arc opposite the cinema "Drummer", already a crowd. “I look, the colonel is standing, so solid. I ask: "Where to go?" And he grinks and says: "These are your problems where you want, go there." Here, people somehow got nervous, began to chant: "Submiss!" Three times they shouted, and the avalanche rushed, broke through the riot police chain and poured into this gap to get out of the crust, ”says Yastrubinetsky. The stream pulled him behind him: “I stood with my back to the crowd. He turned around to look around-where to go? And at that moment I heard the clap. I look - my trousers are blazing. " He tried to knock down the flame with a pamphlet “Putin. Corruption ”, she was in his hands. But the fire only “stuck” to the hands: “Suddenly I hear a cry:“ Lie down! ” I was immediately thrown on the asphalt and extinguished with water-one riot police and one of the protesters. ”
When the flame was shot down, he got to his feet. There was no pain. He picked up the leg and saw: the skin gets off. He began to look for an ambulance, but they were nowhere. “Finally, he hung up to two traffic cops, showed them a leg, and they called an ambulance. We waited half an hour, then the doctors looked at me, put a refreshing bandage with ointment and took me to Sklifosovsky. But why was there no ambulance on the square? "
"What are the options?" - thinks Yastrubinetsky about the reasons for what happened. And he answers himself. Option one: "Some moron took this thing with him and decided to scare the police, but did not calculate, missed and hit me." But this version makes him doubt: “Firstly, it was not just gasoline, because gasoline smells and the smell lasts a long time. And there nothing smelled. I was in light trousers, and when they extinguished the fire, they did not burn out, only the spots remained. And the leg was burned. Secondly, where I stood, there was no one within a radius of several meters, including police officers. The incendiary mixture who had thrown at me could not see this. ”
The second option is a focused provocation so that there is an accident: “They threw aimedly - I am convinced of this. The bottle fell somewhere a meter away from me, and if they hit, I would turn into a torch. ”
At the end of July, investigators were found and persistently asked to come to the Investigative Committee, to testify. When he refused, the investigator himself came to his house - a very young lieutenant Alexei Rodionov. I wrote down the testimony and disappeared. The second time, investigators called the doorbell in the fall (they do not remember the exact date). At their request, he signed a refusal to get acquainted with the case materials, as well as attend the court hearings. Yastrubinetsky says that at the request of the investigators, he also wrote a statement of recognition by the victims, although The New Times said that he had no complaints about the demonstrators. The materials of the investigation also do not indicate who threw a bottle of incendiary mixture - a kind of “unidentified face”.
Radio interception
There were doctors on Bolotnaya. According to official figures, on May 6, one team of emergency medical care (CEMP) and three urban ambulances were to work at the “Million Millions”. When the clashes of the police with the protesters began, two additional CEMP brigades were sent there. At the end of May, on Chirbit.com, where the GSCanner user publishes radio interceptions, there was a record of negotiations of those who worked for swamp doctors. The reliability of these negotiations cannot be established, but a number of details that appear in the materials of the criminal case are mentioned in the records: for example, the number of CEMP brigades that has referred to the doctors and the number.
“For hospitalization, a man, 29 years old, a fracture of the shoulder bones” is the first message. The background is the noise of the crowd. And several reports on the need for hospitalization-“A man, 30 years old, a bruised wound of a parietal-and-white region, a concussion”, “A man, 20 years old, sober, wound of a parietal region”, “A man, 25 years old, a bruised wound of a parietal-cinema region on the left, we must sew”, probably we were talking about demonstrators affected by police batons. “A man, 57 years old, a bruised wound of the lower lip, traumatic extraction of the teeth of the upper jaw, a bruise of soft thigh tissues”, “A man, 74 years old, a fracture of the right elbow joint, multiple bruises.” “For hospitalization, a man, 73 years old, the thermal burn of the lower extremities of the I-II degree” is about Valentina Yastrubinetsk. The OMON employee in these negotiations of doctors is mentioned only once: “31-year-old man with a thermal burn of the eye”*. “The situation is completely completed, in agreement with the Central Internal Affairs Directorate, everyone is free, during the time
| *Apparently, we are talking about the 31-year-old Maxim Antonov, a fighter of the 1st company of the 1st operational battalion of OMON of the Central Executive Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow. According to the case file, he was not caused by a “thermal burn”, but a “chemical burn of face skin of the 1st degree, the conjunctival membrane and the cornea of both eyes of the 1st degree”. |
23 appeals were performed on duty, of which 13 hospitalizations are, ”one of the doctors finally reports.
“How many people were injured? Dozens, ”says human rights activist Lev Ponomarev. - We held public hearings in the Sakharov Center, where people testified. I wrote about the victims of the prosecutor, and we received the answer that everything was united in one criminal case. ” According to Ponomarev, the chairman of the Public Council in the Moscow Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the city of Moscow Olga Kostina handed over the list of victims compiled by the human rights activist: “But the facts of the beating of civilians are not investigated, but in an accelerated form there is an investigation on the facts of“ attacks ”on police officers. Over time, there are fewer people who want to declare that they suffered from the hands of the police. People are afraid that they will take them and also make them the defendants. ”
"Simulants"
But those who applied for the unlawful use of force by police did not receive a clear answer. “One of the victims literally the other day brought a response from the prosecutor’s office: in the summer they wrote to her that, on the fact of the unlawful actions of the police, an audit was organized. So the test, apparently, is going. This is the most ordinary reply. But some people did not even send such answers, ”says Civilian activist and lawyer Elizabeth Privan, who helped some of the victims to issue statements.
“There was a completely anecdotal situation,” says Regina. - One of the victims of ten days lay in the first city hospital - it was so well attached to his head that he had a concussion and a closed skull injury. I recommended him to take an extract from the hospital. ” When the victim - Alexei Aniskin - wrote a statement addressed to the head physician, he was surprised to find out that his documents were seized in a criminal case of an accident in the south of Moscow. It turned out that the victim in that accident, a visiting one from Uzbekistan lay with Aniskin on a neighboring bunk. And the investigator either confused two victims, or deliberately took these documents, so as not to start the cases on May 6, suggests a newcomer. In any case, Aniskin did not return medical documents.

During the detention of civil activist Yevgeny Pazhitnov, the police broke his hand in such a way that the doctors later discovered a fracture. The Investigative Committee for the activist replied that it was not possible to determine the perpetrator. “The surnames of these policemen are known, they wrote a report on me. There were two of them, and both were in helmets. And which of them stood on the right, who on the left, they do not remember - and therefore you can’t find out who broke my hand, ”says Pazhitnov.
According to Oleg Novikov from the Public Verdict Foundation, the investigation will try to hush up and the appeal of the 64-year-old Turana Varzabyan, which the riot police hit the head on the head. Turana lost consciousness and woke up already in an ambulance. “We will seek a criminal case to be instituted,” says Novikov.
“All the time, letters (from investigators) come to me, three lines: such and such referred to such and such and so on,” says the anti-fascist and member of the coordination council of the opposition Alexei Gaskarov. On May 6, he was first hit with a club, then they knocked down and began to beat with their feet, one of the riot police greatly broke an eyebrow. Gaskarov attached a video to his statement, which was eventually sent to the Investigative Committee. The answer never came.
The testimony of doctors on duty on May 6 states that the wounded were both from the police and the protesters. “The victims of civilians were reported to the ambulance, many did not have time to start providing medical care, since the patient jumped up and, seeing that there were no police officers nearby,” the investigators of the doctors recorded.
If you believe their words, the victims made due to the cordon did not need emergency medical care, and many simply pretended. The protocol writes: "Most often, protesters, detained by police officers, simulated asthma and bouts of epilepsy."
