A new film about Angelica, Marquis of Angels will be released in 2013

A new film based on the novel “Angelica, Marquise of Angels” will be released in September 2013, reports Lenta.ru .

The director of the new film adaptation of "Angelique" is Ariel Zaitoun, the main role is played by the French actress Nora Arnezeder ("Cape Town Access Code", "Maniac").

The historical and adventurous novel by Anne and Serge Golon about the beautiful Angelica, the literary basis of the new film, was published in 1957. The events of the novel take place in France in the mid-17th century. The first book was followed by more than ten sequels - “Angelica and the King”, “Indomitable Angelica” and others.

The novels in the series have previously been filmed. The first film, also called “Angelica, Marquise of Angels,” was released in 1964. Later, four sequels were released: “Angelique and the King” (1965), “The Magnificent Angelique” (1965), “The Indomitable Angelique” (1967) and “Angelique and the Sultan” (1968). In all films, the main role was played by the French actress Michelle Mercier.
