Syrian opposition: rebels killed one of the leaders of the ruling party

The senior representative of the ruling party of Syria Baas Hussein Rifai died as a result of the explosion organized by the rebels in the province of Daraa in the south of the country. The bomb was laid in a car near the Rifai house, AP reports.

The death of one of the leaders of the Syrian government became known from employees of the Syrian Supervisory Board of Human Rights based in London, Interfax writes. In addition to Rifai, three of his guards were the victims of the explosion. Meanwhile, the Sina Syrian agency also declared explosions in the provinces, as a result of which people died, but did not specify whether Rifai was among them.

The explosion of cars stuffed with bombs is one of the most common types of terrorist attacks in Syria, torn by the Civil War since March 2011. The last of the loud tragedies occurred on Wednesday in Damascus. As a result, two explosions died at least 44 people and 83 were injured. And in May, explosions near the two main buildings of special services in the Syrian capital took 55 people, while 370 were injured.

Government buildings and representatives of the authorities are the main goals of terrorist attacks of rebels who want to leave the post of current president Bashar al -Assad. In July, the suicide bomber has acted a powerful explosive device at a government meeting, which took place in the state security building in Damascus. The victims were the Minister of Defense Daud Rajha, his deputy and at the same time son-in-law of President Asap Shaukat and assistant vice president of the country and the head of the anti-crisis administration Hassan Turkomani. The Hishas Iakhtiyar, director of the national security and internal affairs bureau, Muhammad al-Shaar were wounded.

The armed confrontation in Syria has been going on for more than 1.5 years. According to various sources, it claimed lives from 20 to 40 thousand people.
