3 billion rubles were stolen in the housing and communal services of St. Petersburg

The Police of St. Petersburg stopped the activities of the group, whose participants are suspected of theft of 3 billion rubles from the city budget, Interfax reports.

These funds were allocated for the construction and overhaul of the objects of heat and water supply of St. Petersburg.

The police conducted searches for the group participants, which included the head of the St. Petersburg Committee on Energy and Engineering, Vladislav Petrov. 8 million rubles, 100 thousand dollars and 100 thousand euros were seized from him.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, employees of the Committee on Energy and Engineering Support, employees of the state institution “Customer Management for Construction and Capital Repair of Objects of the Engineering and Energy Complex”, as well as heads and founders of a number of commercial organizations were involved in unlawful activities.

According to Life News , the orruperation scheme included the supply and installation of pipes that did not correspond to GOST, and was carried out through firms controlled by fraudsters, while fake certificate of qualities were used. In total, according to the police, 600 km of non -documented pipes were laid in St. Petersburg. A criminal case has been instituted on this fact under part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code “Particularly large -scale fraud”, the maximum sanction for which provides for up to 10 years of imprisonment.
