The Human Rights Society Memorial sent a statement to the police with a request to initiate a criminal case on the fact of placing a banner with the inscription "A foreign agent sits here!" On the roof of the office, the representative of the organization Sergei Danilin told Polit.ru.

“We filed a statement to the Tver police department with a request to institute criminal proceedings. We consulted with lawyers to understand what article the case could be qualified, but then we decided to write in general words: an act of illegal penetration into private property, as well as non -pecuniary damage. Of course, this action is aimed at discrediting the Memorial, so we intend to achieve a criminal case, ”said Sergey Danilin.

He recalled that on November 21, hooligans wrote in paint on the facade of the building “Memorial”: “Foreign agent. I love usa ". Then human rights activists turned to the police with a request to institute criminal proceedings under Article 214 of the Criminal Code of Vandalism, but the investigators did not find a crime. The Memorial connected the attack with the fact that on November 21 the law on non -profit organizations entered into force. According to the law, non -profit organizations receiving foreign grants are obliged to register as “foreign agents”, however, the Memorial in September said that he did not intend to add himself to the list of foreign agents.

“We also requested a video from outdoor surveillance cameras from the nearest buildings to establish criminals who have already attacked the building twice. Unfortunately, there are no cameras on our buildings, but now we are working to install them, ”Danilin emphasized.

According to him, the banner and inscriptions are still on the building of the Memorial in Maly Karetny Lane. They decided not to remove the banner and paint until the police study them.

“If the police do not need these inscriptions as material evidence, then we will remove the banner and an eating paint. This battle with hunveibins is a slurred thing. We will wash, they will draw. We reacted to this with the tired irony, ”said Arseniy Roginsky, chairman of the board of the International Memorial.

According to him, the banner was placed with the help of a special car that raised criminals to the roof of the building in the cradle. Good technical training suggests that “someone from the Kremlin movements” are involved in the action, Roginsky noted.
