It is difficult to judge life in the mysterious country of Belarus from music; the signals coming through this channel are too contradictory. If you believe Lyapis Trubetskoy, there are all gyms and barricades there. Judging by the Cassiopeia records, the country is dominated by contemporary art and science fiction. And the tenacious duo RockerJoker offers a picture close to everyday life, described by many poets from the banks of the Neva. Alcotripes give way to hangovers, wheezing pierces the armor, hopes are crushed, the button accordion breaks, as Yuri Shevchuk sang, “severe men are playing jazz in the bar.” The lyrical heroes Mikhei Nosorogov and Mak Sirogo are clearly in a period of sobriety, but this only benefits the songs. The single “Petya” is a complete victory for the forces of good, and besides the button accordion and ukulele, a whole Dixieland sound was heard on the recording. As one of the reviews says, “Micah and Max were yelling and making noise in the kitchen, destroying the cupboard with dishes, banging bottles on the radiator, driving the neighbors crazy, breaking stools and smearing herring on the table, and then they called everyone into a room with a small light bulb and opened a box with Christmas toys from our childhood."
