Hot meals have been organized on the highway, places for heating and medical support have been identified, and fuel supply has been organized,” according to the official website of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Tver region. According to the department, the movement of cars and buses is carried out as usual.

Planned traffic stops have been organized in the direction of St. Petersburg for the passage of snow removal equipment. “The average speed of cars is 50-60 km/h. Stops for the passage of snow removal equipment do not exceed 30 minutes,” said Denis Gutsalyuk, head of the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Tver Region.

Despite official statements, the Ministry of Emergency Situations does not provide assistance to truck drivers who find themselves hostage to the elements, one of the drivers told Ekho Moskvy . Having heard statements about the normalization of traffic on the highway, drivers began to call the radio and refute the information. Many of them complain that they have been on the highway for two days and cannot get out. And they do not receive any hot meals. Volunteers from Tver are coming to help drivers. Volunteers announced a gathering on December 2 at 17:00 near the Carousel shopping center opposite the night entrance. For those who are going to the track, the moderators of the portal remind: “Pay special attention to those who are left without solar panels, without batteries, without communication. There are many of them even within the boundaries of Tver now. These people have been in cold, damp cabins for the third day and the first they all need help. For them now a simple phone call is worth more than bread!” A “traffic jam on the M-10” group has already been created on the social network VKontakte, where drivers send messages about the situation on the highway. “A bowl of soup already starts from 120 rubles, a pack of cigarettes from 200 rubles, parking costs 500-1200 rubles. Gas stations run out of fuel, the local population takes people to shops for doshiraki... And looters in cafes raise prices 3-4 times!” — writes one of the group members.

Drivers are also asked to bypass the M-10 federal road through the M-9 Baltia and M-20 St. Petersburg - Kyiv highways, which pass through the territory of the Pskov region. The traffic jam begins to shift towards the Novgorod region neighboring Tver. All regular buses between Moscow, Tver and St. Petersburg have been cancelled, and tickets are not even being sold. It is not yet known when the first flight will depart. The Ministry of Emergency Situations promised to normalize traffic on the highway by evening.
A multi-kilometer traffic jam on the M-10 "Russia" highway occurred on Friday evening. Due to heavy snowfall and uncleared roads, trucks were unable to pass and ended up blocking traffic. The most difficult situation is in the Torzhok district of the Tver region. Due to weather conditions, a state of emergency was introduced in Tver on Friday.
