A person I know who supplies various things said today: “There are no more matches.”

A carload of matches arrived and everything was taken apart. Why is there such a demand for rare goods?

The only assumption is that people are still waiting for the end of the world. They are looking for rescue options. The end of the world according to the Mayan calendar does not suit them - everything is too fatal. Therefore, an alternative version was created, known as “Tibetan monk made a statement to NASA about the end of the world.”

According to this version, on December 24 the Earth will pass through a certain galactic “zero strip”. I won’t quote this masterpiece in full, which has filled the Russian Internet, but for those interested, I’ll give the link again HERE . Excellent nonsense, periodically supplied with the phrases “you don’t need to be afraid of this” and “you only need to rely on yourself.”

The all-Russian shortage of matches was caused by the following words in the “message to government headquarters”: “the zero band is a state of space where no energies are extinguished and cannot propagate, where there are no electromagnetic fields for all objects... It is necessary to have a supply of water and firewood in the house for heating and candles for lighting. You need to have a stove in the house, since electricity will stop flowing through the wires from December 21, 2012."

So, for those who did not even make it to the 9th grade (8th according to the previous Soviet program), I will reveal a terrible secret: the radiation of burning matches, candles and firewood is also electromagnetic radiation.

And why did this monk give people vain hope?

I have only one possible answer - some student completed his thesis on PR management of an illiquid product. And his scientific supervisor is our former compatriot, who emigrated abroad in the 90s of the last century, a witness to the cumulative panic of soap, salt and cereals, which were subsequently fed to mice.

The experiment was a success - it was proven that Russia lives in a dense age of myths, hunting and gathering.
