On December 5, a certain Ilya Smirnov on the website of the Democrat Foundation (chairman Alexander Ivanovich Borisov) created the text of an appeal that lists 85 grantees from three American foundations: NED - National Endowment for Democracy, MacArthur - John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, USAID - United States Agency for International Development.
The list includes the Moscow Helsinki Group, the human rights association "Agora", Levada Center, the Center for Journalism in Extreme Situations, Memorial and other human rights organizations.
On December 5, the appeal was sent to the President of the Russian Federation - 371 users signed it, and 194 opposed it.
The signatories ask "to check whether these organizations continue to receive foreign assistance for carrying out political activities in the Russian Federation. And if it is confirmed that the NPOs listed on the list have received financial and other material assistance from abroad, we ask, in accordance with the law, to include these organizations in" state register of non-profit organizations performing the functions of a foreign agent" and also monitor compliance by these organizations with Federal Law No. 121-FZ of July 20, 2012."
Now we should expect a total audit of the activities of the listed non-profit organizations.
The authors indicate that these organizations were recipients of foreign grants, but here is information about whether they received assistance after November 21, 2012. they don't have.
