Tomorrow the airport will stop servicing the carrier's flights

Sheremetyevo Airport (MASH) and the Ukrainian airline Aerosvit could not agree on repayment of the carrier’s debt in the amount of 165 million rubles. Starting tomorrow, MASH suspends servicing Aerosvit. On the first day of closure of flights, the airport, together with Aeroflot, will provide assistance to passengers in their flights, but from December 12, all responsibility for their delivery will fall on Aerosvit. The airline itself continues to assure that all flights will take place as scheduled.

Sheremetyevo Airport has made the final decision to suspend flight services of the Ukrainian carrier Aerosvit from 0:00 Moscow time on December 11. The reason was “failure to fulfill obligations to pay bills” for the provision of airport services and ground handling services for flights. Currently, Aerosvit’s total debt to MASH, Sheremetyevo TZK and AeroMASH-AB has exceeded RUB 165.5 million. The SIA press service explained to Kommersant that the airline’s financial difficulties at the airport first became known back in August; on November 21, Aerosvit drew up and signed a debt restructuring schedule, but it has still not been implemented, and the size of the debt continues to increase. Sheremetyevo denied information from Ukrainian media that the company allegedly makes payments.

It is planned that on the first day of flight closure, SIA and its base carrier, the Russian state-owned Aeroflot, will try to provide assistance to Aerosvit passengers, especially those who have tickets for codeshare flights with Aeroflot. Now Aerosvit makes six flights daily from SIA. Four - to Kyiv and two - to Dnepropetrovsk. In addition, many passengers use the airline's connecting flights through Kyiv to other countries.

But from December 12, all responsibility for organizing flights, returning tickets and resolving other issues falls entirely on the Ukrainian airline, SIA emphasized. The Aerosvit press service was unable to promptly respond to Kommersant’s request, citing the fact that the information “needs to be clarified with technical services.” The Aerosvit call center assured that “all flights, including those on December 12, are visible in the ticket booking system,” are being operated and will be operated as scheduled.
