Constitution Day
On December 12, 1993, the Constitution of the Russian Federation was adopted by popular vote. Since 1994, this day has been declared a public holiday and a weekend, in 2004 it has been expelled from the weekend list.
On the USSR, the Constitution Day was celebrated on December 5 (the day of the adoption of the Constitution of 1936), then the holiday was postponed to October 7 (the day of the adoption of the new Constitution of the USSR - the "Constitution of developed socialism").
