But they still did not lag behind him, demanding to explain where the version came from, which he voiced the investigation - as if the customer of the murders of Anna Politkovskaya are Berezovsky and Zakaev living in London.

It was also surprised that Pavlyuchenkov, who was accused by a heavy article and under house arrest after a deal with the investigation, calmly walks along the corridors next to the victims without any police support, smokes along with reporters, communicates with whom he wants, and constantly talks on a mobile phone that is strictly prohibited by “home prisoners”. He appeared at the courtroom - he simply left the elevator; Without any bag, as if knowing that the verdict today will not be read out.

The first process in the case of the murder of Anna Politkovskaya, we remind, in 2009 ended with the acquittal of the jury. The two Makhmudov brothers were acquitted (they were accused of monitoring the journalist, now-at large) and the ex-captain of Rubop Khadzhikurbanov (accused of organizing the murder, now he was serving the time for extorting money from Pavlyuchenkov, the case was initiated upon the statement of the latter). Killer, - and they supposedly were the brother of the Mahmudov Rustam - there were no defendants on the bench. He was arrested only last year. In such an atmosphere on December 12, the second process in the case of the murder of the observer of Novaya Gazeta started.

The current defendant, Pavlyuchenkov, who, at the time of the crime, headed the Off -Office department of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate, acted on that process the main witness of the prosecution and was even under the protection program. The investigation reached Pavlyuchenkov in 2007, but as part of the investigation of another criminal case - on the fact of an attempt on the entrepreneur Gennady Korban. The organization of crimes was suspected of Lom Ali Gaitukaev-once a member of the Lazan organized crime group. Among the contacts of Gaitukaev, Pavlyuchenkov was discovered, who during the first conversations chose win -win tactics: he himself spoke about the murder of Politkovskaya, surrendering his former friend Khadzhikurbanov, the Makhmudov brothers and many more, including the FSB officer Pavel Ryatuzov, whose agents were Gaitukaev and one of the brothers. Everyone was arrested, and Pavlyuchenkov escaped the fate of the suspect, turning into a “valuable witness”.

True, both in the course of the first process, he gave such slurred testimonies that the jury did not believe him, and the “new” and the children of Anna Politkovskaya had a feeling: Pavlyuchenkov himself played an important role in the crime.

And then the “new” and the investigation found witnesses who confirmed: it was Pavlyuchenkov - one of the organizers of the murder. His subordinates “Toptuns” followed Politkovskaya and transferred her routes to Killer. Such a “hack” was common for employees of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate: they monitored in their official time on private orders for wives/mistresses, business competitors and journalists (some subsequently died, but this did not care very much). In 2011, Pavlyuchenkov was still arrested. But he concluded a deal with the investigation, said that the surveillance of the journalist “New” asked to organize Gaitukaev, and the murder customers were Berezovsky with Zakayev, but did not cite any evidence, not giving intelligible testimonies even about the intermediaries and money received. (Although he spoke about other accomplices in the crime in detail, and his information was confirmed by objective evidence.)

This song liked both the investigation and the Deputy Prosecutor Grin, who signed the deal and transferred the case of Pavlyuchenkov (allocated to separate production) to the Moscow City Court for consideration in a special order: that is, without the interrogation of witnesses and the study of evidence.

- ... Pavlyuchenkov did not fulfill the terms of the pre -trial agreement - and in terms of data, the obligation to name the true customer of the murder, and in terms of the obligation to truthfully inform the investigator about his participation in the crime. He did not do anything of this. During the investigation, he first said that he did not know the customer, then refused to name his name “for security reasons”, and then called Boris Berezovsky and Ahmed Zakayev. These versions are biased and contradicting the actual circumstances of the case, the lawyer of the victims, Vera and Ilya Politkovsky, told the court, Anna Stavitskaya and asked the court to terminate the deal with the investigation, return the case back to the prosecutor’s office so that Pavlyuchenkov would be at the same bench with all other murder participants.

However, according to the law, the opinion of the victims in such cases is not taken into account. Earlier, the SK and the Prosecutor General’s Office refused to terminate the deal, and in court the state prosecutor Gulchera Ibrahimov summed up: “The indicated transaction does not violate the rights of the victims.” And the court did not cancel the deal.

In general, the picture in court unfolded absurd. On the one hand, the accusation focused on the fact that with his testimony Pavlyuchenkov provided invaluable assistance to the investigation: “He spoke in detail about the preparation of the crime”, “in detail” about his role, about everyone’s roles, “named the specific names of the initiators of the murder”, on the other hand, the customer of the murder of the journalist, as follows from the accusatory imprisonment, was an “unfortunate person” (Berezovsky is only only in the time. Pavlyuchenkov’s testimony). It’s somehow strange: since you have such a super witness, why didn’t you install a true customer?

“I believe that I fully fulfilled my obligations before the investigation,” Pavlyuchenkov said in court. - Berezovsky and Zakaev openly invited me to follow the journalist. Their demand was transferred by Loma Ali Gaitukaev. I just agreed to survive ...

The most interesting thing happened: journalists did not lag behind the defendant and his lawyer Nersesyan: do they believe in this version, where did they get it from?

Both answered in the spirit that, they say, what they bought for, for that we are selling. That Gaitukaev mentioned about Berezovsky. For the reliability of information, we do not answer. Just Pavlyuchenkov considered the necessary investigation to tell it. This version does not belong. He never saw Berezovsky: "Where am I, and where is Berezovsky?" At the same time, Pavlyuchenkov said: “I did not build my testimonies on conclusions. I have worked on the wanted list for 20 years, you can’t build anything on conclusions, no chess game. ” When the journalists pointed out these contradictions in his own words, the defendant interrupted the communication: “I gave the investigation a subscription about non -disclosure” and generally “does not intend to confess here”.

At the trial, Pavlyuchenkov, of course, “pleaded” the guilt, repented and, together with the lawyer, talked about his bitter fate of the “accidental accomplice” of this “terrible murder”. Yes, he was engaged in “hack” - surveillance of different people to earn extra money, they paid a little in the police, but the hack was uncriminal. And therefore, when Gaitukaev turned to him with a request to follow Politkovskaya, he took it as something ordinary, he had “intentions” from him, and when he realized that the surveillance would not end in good, he could not refuse the request of the terrible Gaitukaev - “feared for his life and the life of his family”. Hearing about Berezovsky, he was scared completely completely.

In general, such a lieutenant colonel from the super -secret unit of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate, which was under the heel of the criminal authority, appeared in court and, of course, did not know where to complain about him and how to warn law enforcement agencies about the upcoming murder.

Well, yes - and so five times in a row. According to Novaya Gazeta, he was so scared when he was preparing the murder of journalist Paul Khlebnikov and several businessmen.

“I am to blame for them,” Pavlyuchenkov pointed to Ilya and the faith of the Politkovsky. “I don't know what to tell them ... I am to blame for people ...

“They are to blame, not to blame,” the judge Zamashnyuk was annoyed and asked to answer strictly to the questions posed. For example, whether he recognizes a claim with the victims. Pavlyuchenkov admitted, only asked to divide the amount of 10 million rubles between all the defendants in the case.

Everything went so: Pavlyuchenkov “bitterly repented”, the prosecutor reminded that his “detailed” testimonies “contributed to the disclosure of the crime” and that the accused affected other socially significant criminal cases (those where they also took it for fright). The accusation called the "mitigating circumstance." Yes, and of course, undermined health. Pavlyuchenkov really served in hot spots, and at the end of 2006 he quit the service for medical reasons, but only after he miraculously survived in a household drunk fight. (By the way, this is what allowed Pavlyuchenkov legally to leave the pre -trial detention center under house arrest.)

The lawyer of the accused Nersesyan in the debate hit Paphos, talking about the military merits of the police officer, calling his life - “tragedy”, and eventually asked Pavlyuchenkov to appoint a “lower lower”, and better - “generally conditionally”. "I'm just afraid that he will die in the colony."

The prosecutor Ibragimova asked for Pavlyuchenkov 12 years of a general regime colony with a restriction of freedom at 1 year (this means that after improving he will not be able to leave the country for another year and change the place of residence). The victims demanded the highest punishment, which is possible with a special order of consideration of the case, - 13.5 years. The defense of the accused regarded this as a “thirst for blood”.

- We do not want blood. Pavlyuchenkov wanted blood, participating in this murder, ”Anna Stavitskaya answered this. - How can a person working in the organs generally accept such orders for murders? Yes, they pay a little in law enforcement agencies, I know many people from law enforcement agencies, including those who have passed Afghanistan. To earn a living, they went to security enterprises and other structures. It is strange that he earned money by orders for murders. We still heard here that relatives were waiting for him at home. But Vera and Ilya Politkovsky, including thanks to Pavlyuchenkov, will never be able to see their mother.

Judge Alexander Zamashnyuk announced a break in the meeting - until Friday, December 14. On this day, the court hears the last word Pavlyuchenkov, after which he will retire to the verdict, which, most likely, will be issued on the same day.
