The company's board of directors will appoint Vladimir Potanin as CEO on Monday, December 17. Strzhalkovsky's departure was one of the conditions of the agreement between Interros and RusAl, which should put an end to the long-term conflict between Norilsk Nickel shareholders. The compensation to the general director is spelled out in a document signed by the companies of Potanin, Deripaska, and Roman Abramovich’s Millhouse.

Immediately after leaving MMC, Strzhalkovsky will receive $50 million, six months later - $25 million, and a year later - $25 million. “This is a compromise option that all shareholders agreed to,” one of Vedomosti’s interlocutors emphasized.
