The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against the opposition Alexei Navalny and his brother Oleg on theft of 55 million rubles in the field of cargo transportation.

"Oleg and Alexei Navalny committed theft fraudulently in a trading company in the amount of more than 55 million rubles," said the official representative of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Vladimir Markin on Friday Interfax.

A criminal case has been instituted against the brothers Navalny under Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud by a group of persons on an especially large scale)", Article 174.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("legalization of funds acquired as a result of a crime").

According to the investigation, Alexei Navalny created LLC “The Main Subscribed Agency”, and his brother, who worked in the Russian Post in 2008, fraudulently persuaded a foreign company to sign an agreement on transportation on the Yaroslavl -Moscow route. At the maximum transportation price of 31 million rubles, a foreign company paid 55 million rubles. "Thus, Oleg and Alexei Navalny committed theft fraudulently by a trading company in the amount of over 55 million rubles," the department concluded.

According to the investigation, most of this amount, the Navalny brothers spent on their own needs, and legalized 19 million rubles, transferring them to the “laying company” to the Kobyakovskoye Lozoling Factory, the founders of which they themselves and their parents are.

This is the second criminal case in which Alexei Navalny appears. In July of this year, he was accused of embezzlement in the Kirovles case . Investigators believe that the opposition, together with the accomplices, assigned more than 16 million rubles.
