The case of 46-year-old McKinon, who suffers from Asperger's syndrome (form of autism), was drawn in the UK for almost 10 years, recalls RIA Novosti . The investigation revealed that the Briton managed to hack computer networks used, in particular by the Pentagon and NASA.

According to McKinon himself, he penetrated into computer systems, as he hoped to detect evidence of the existence of UFOs. McKinon also pointed out that he was an inexperienced hacker and used the “antediluvian” modem through 56 kilobites. He made a total of 97 attacks on computer networks of American military departments.

In the United States, his action was called one of the most dangerous cybercressions against the United States. The damage from his actions was estimated at 700 thousand dollars, and about $ 1 million were spent in search of the hacker, according to the British television and radio broadcasting corporation .

In October, the head of the British Ministry of Internal Affairs Teresa May already canceled the previous resolution on Hacker's extradition in the United States.
