Twitter allowed users to download the archive of their messages

Twitter microblogging users have the opportunity to download the archive of their messages, RIA Novosti reports with reference to TechnicCrunch technoblog.

In July, the general director of Twitter Dick Kostolo at a meeting with reporters promised to launch the opportunity to download the archive of messages. In September, Kostolo said that this functionality would be launched before the end of the year, and now this promise, apparently, began to be fulfilled.

True, this function has so far only among some users of the service. Probably, the ability to download the archive will soon appear among all users, since large Internet services often use the practice of gradual launching new functions.

According to TechCrunch, Twitter users will receive a letter after forming the archive with reference to the ZIP archive. After the archive is opened, users will need to start the HTML file contained in it to view their messages.

Many social services, including the world's largest social network Facebook, have already provided their users with the opportunity to export their data and messages, but Twitter has still been deprived of such a functionality. Users could view only a few thousands of their last messages.

However, the problem of export of messages from Twitter has already partially solved third -party services. However, there are restrictions in them: in particular, the TWDOCS.com service, like some others, allows you to export only 3.2 thousand last messages.
