It cannot be like this: “The king did not know”

Our deputies have once again shown us what is most important to them. Their mandates, their parliamentary positions, money, position, the opportunity to decide their personal affairs. In general, everything, everything, everything is personal, having nothing to do with us, Russians, or with the country - Russia.

I used to think that our government behaves this way because it does not fully understand and is not aware of the true state of affairs. Well, how can we understand the true state of affairs if the government, or more precisely, the people in power, live a different life, different from the one that ordinary citizens live? They live in luxurious apartments and houses, drive expensive cars, on more or less good roads (the Rublevsky direction is very comfortable, well-maintained), are treated in good clinics, go to restaurants, all their relatives are employed and have no shortage of money. Everything around them is good and blissful. Well, a shift in consciousness occurs: “I live normally, everything is fine with my friends and relatives, we don’t count money for bread and milk, I put a reserve of money equal to two years’ earnings on Prokhorov’s advice into an account in a good foreign bank, everything is fine.” He doesn’t see the bad, the illusion is created that everyone lives the same way.

About a year and a half ago, I accidentally came across another episode of “School of Scandal” on TV late at night. The presenters talked with a journalist who has been writing about ballet all his life. And he told a lot of interesting things about the world of ballet, about life behind the scenes. He also said that our prima ballerinas really don’t like to read critical articles to themselves. And if this kind of article suddenly appears, they immediately say that this is an “order” from a competitor. And they really love good articles. And they often order them themselves. Sometimes they even write it themselves, then ask them to put it in the magazine. And then, when such a good article is published in a magazine, they read and believe that everything is so. They believe and cry with happiness.

I thought it was the same with our government. They believe that everything is fine. They tell themselves that everything is fine. And they cry with happiness, just like ballet dancers.

And I used to think that this is why our government behaves this way. Living in another world parallel to us, State Duma deputies pass idiotic and now even inhuman laws, the president signs them, and the government implements them.

But now I know that this is not so. They are all simply anti-human themselves, they are scoundrels and bastards. They know everything perfectly well. And they do everything consciously. It is impossible not to know what is happening in the country where you live.

I currently live in Indonesia. In a country about which I knew nothing at all before coming here. And when I arrived here, I almost immediately met the Russian people living here, who came here on a contract, that is, they live temporarily, earn good money, and lead the life of relatively rich people. And for now I only communicate with them. I don't read local newspapers, I don't watch local television. I find it much more interesting to read news from Russia. And I have one foot still there. I hardly intersect with local realities. Well, besides the fact that I go to the nearest supermarket for groceries, sometimes I have lunch at a restaurant in our house. And even then, this supermarket is more for expats and very wealthy people. Our house is also inhabited mainly by foreigners and rich Indonesians. Therefore, I don’t seem to have and cannot have a real picture of what is happening in Indonesia. I'm still living in parallel.

But I still, I still see that the country is full of problems. This can be seen from the window of the taxi that I usually take here; I don’t know how to use public transport yet. This is clear from the fact that the average salary of a nanny that I am currently looking for for my youngest child is $150. You can hear it in the smell, or rather, in that stench in some areas of the city. That is, I, without particularly interfering with the lives of ordinary Jakartans, cannot help but see many problems, and of course I see them. Because, being inside, it is impossible to avoid negative information, if it does exist. It just doesn't work out.

And I now understand that people in the Russian government cannot help but see, know, and hear. They know everything perfectly well. There is no and cannot be such a thing: “The king did not know.” This does not exist in nature and cannot exist. They are just scoundrels and bastards.
