Several dozen district pediatricians of Izhevsk went to the picket on Saturday, demanding a reduction in the workload and surcharge for overtime work.
Doctors came to the picket, despite the 25-degree frost. In their hands, doctors held posters with an appeal to reduce their workload: "It is unbearable to work in two areas! And the children suffer, and mothers!", "Down with the queue in children's clinics!" And "stop force the doctor to work on two areas for a symbolic fee!", RIA Novosti reports.
The representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Udmurtia informed reporters that 50 people took part in the picket, the organizers of the event reported 70 participants.
The pediatrician of the fifth children's clinic of Izhevsk, Angelica, said that the number of patients who have been assigned to her from 2006 from 600 to 900-1000 people. "We have three to five minutes to the patient, during this time the child needs to undress, think, think, prescribe treatment and still explain to your mother, so we have some kind of conveyor. Naturally, the quality of medical care suffers, parents who sit in huge lines suffer, well, we suffer, we are also people, we have family."
According to the doctors, due to the fact that there are not enough specialists in Izhevsk children's hospitals, they are forced to work in the so-called "second areas", that is, to serve the population of those areas that the specialist is not assigned to, or where there is no one to replace the pediatrician for the duration of his vacation. “I was on vacation in the fall, and for ten days another doctor went to the challenges, to my site and to mine. So she received 300 rubles for ten days for my site, that is, 30 rubles a day,” the doctor explained.
According to another doctor, after it became possible to sign up for an appointment with their hospital on the Internet, the number of patients increased significantly. “This electronic record does not justify itself, because instead of 12 people it goes really 40-45. I understand, but I can accept 12 people, where do I go to the street to throw sick children? Our health organizers cannot resolve these issues or do not want to,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
Participants in the picket of local pediatricians of the children's clinics Izhevsk adopted a resolution to the republican and federal authorities, in which, in particular, they demanded to stop to force them to work in “alien” areas where doctors are not enough to raise the size of the basic salaries, as well as reduce the norm of patient service in one site from 800 to 600 children, as it used to be.
