On this day, the prisoners arranged a rebellion against the cruel conditions of maintenance, torture and extortion from the overseers. 250 convicts entered the regime corridor of the residential area of ​​the institution and demanded the release of prisoners from the penalty insulator placed there for violations of the internal regulations. At this time, about 300 relatives of the jailers gathered near the walls of the colony, who, according to investigators, began to attack riot police, as a result of which 38 violators of the order were detained.

After the incident in the colony, searches and interrogations of employees began, more than 120 statements and 350 complaints from prisoners who reported to extortion and other violations were accepted. Thus, the investigators collected the fact that from 2008 to November 2012, requisitions were arranged in prison in the amount of five to 90 thousand rubles, and they knocked them out of the adverse conditions for serving the sentence and threats to the use of physical violence, the representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia Vladimir Markin noted in a conversation with ITAR-TASS.

In early December, Mechanov assured that threats and requisitions were the inventions of the convicts that “walked along his string” and wanted to relieve the regime and release from the penalty insulator (schizo), which they could not achieve. “Someone cannot free himself at the parole. Someone is shining poorly. Someone cannot solve the crossword puzzle,” the suspect ironized.

During the investigation of the criminal case against Mechanov, the maximum punishment for which is 10 years of prison, he was removed from the post of head of the prison. Now this post is occupied by the lieutenant colonel of the internal service of Alexander Yurochko, ITAR-TASS notes.
