On the day of the inauguration of Vladimir Putin, OMON fighters suddenly burst into the Jean-Jacques cafe on Nikitsky Boulevard and began to detain people sitting on the summer terrace. The restaurateur Dmitry Borisov and poet Lev Rubinstein tell about what was happening there.

Breakfast in the cafe "Jean-Jacques" on May 7
Dmitry Borisov, restaurateur, publisher, co-owner of the Jean-Jacques network:
I was not in Moscow that day, I left with my daughter for May holidays. But there and besides me there were many witnesses. No "pogrom" happened, except that they defeated the ashtray. Most sorry for the two women who arrived in Moscow and simply went to the cafe. They hit for nothing. They were accepted into a car zak, they are from Rostov in my opinion. They were taken away, then they were immediately released. This is of course an unpleasant situation when a bunch of people are taken from your cafe.
We received a frantic number of publications. Three days only about it all spoke around the world, in all blogs and social networks. And what the power structures had in mind, I still did not understand, to be honest. There were 15 people in a summer cafe there. They also went inside, but in my opinion only those who were on the street were swore. Some kind of mysterious story. Why this was done is completely incomprehensible.
Leo Rubinstein, poet:
It was on the day of the so-called inauguration, I came to Jean-Jacques in the morning, because I agreed with several friends to meet there. It was a very warm day, we sat outside on the veranda, ten people. We looked towards the square where these occupation troops have already built their barrage devices. Helmets in the sun shone like in a movie. And we sat and spoke peacefully. At some point, a thunderstorm cloud appeared from somewhere around the corner of the company of astronauts, very vigorous and frisky, and, as it seemed to me, inflated. And they simply began to pull out people from behind these tables. It was very spectacular, turned the tables, shouted loudly, they grabbed someone right behind the scruff and on the bus ... I got up and went further because I did not like it when they touched me with my hands. They caught up with me and also took me by the elbow and led to the bus. Actually, and then let go.
In the current situation and the actions of the authorities, the question of why they came there - it is basically inappropriate. In extreme cases, you can ask them, but they will not answer you either or say that to ensure public order and stability. And I can't say why. There is no need. On the eve of the well -known on May 6, there was a swamp square, and I think that the authorities were terribly inflated, terribly angry, terribly frightened. The person who led me to the bus, and peacefully led me, quite at home, he, I remember, said: "You just, please do not twitch, because my hand is broken." I say: "What?" He says: "But yesterday in Bolotnaya." I sympathized with him.
If you remember that time, everyone who appeared in the center of Moscow immediately automatically considered their enemies. And personal, and enemies of the state, and Putin's enemies. Everyone began to winger and grab all. As far as I remember, this day ended with a remarkable cultural phenomenon called "Occupayabai". And what to regret? There will be something to remember.
