Opponents of the ban on adoption were detained at the Federation Council

On December 26, the police detained four people at the Federation Council building in the center of Moscow, Interfax reports.

They protested against the adoption of a Russian response to the “Magnitsky Law”, which, in particular, prohibits the adoption of Russian children with Americans. Protesters launched posters with slogans against the prohibition of adoption at the entrance to the building, after which they were detained.

The police also strengthened security measures in Bolshaya Dmitrovka in front of the entrance to the building of the Federation Council. The quarter around the upper house of the parliament is numbered by employees of the 2nd operational regiment of the Moscow police. Police passes to the building only according to official certificates.

Recall, on December 25, the Committee of the Federation Council on Constitutional Legislation, legal and judicial issues approved the draft law on adoption and recommended it for adoption.

Voting under this law in the Council will be held on December 26. In case of adoption, he will enter the signature of President Vladimir Putin.

The so -called "Law of Dima Yakovlev" will be a response to the American "Magnitsky Law". It was developed by the deputies of United Russia, however, the main engine of the “anti -magnetic” law is called the deputy head of the Presidential Administration Vyacheslav Volodin, who oversees domestic policy. The Duma adopted the bill on the third reading on Friday, December 21.

The law “On measures of influence on persons involved in violation of the rights of citizens of the Russian Federation” provides for a ban on the adoption of Russian orphans by American citizens. In addition, the law limits the activities of American non -profit organizations in Russia and prohibits the entry of persons involved in the violation of the rights of Russians.
