In Moscow, the chairman of the OZPP was beaten during the day

The Chairman of the Society for the Protection of Consumer Rights, Mikhail Anshakov, was beaten. According to the organization's website, he was attacked by an unknown man with a tire iron. The victim suffered a broken arm and a concussion. The attack took place on December 26 at about 12.30 Moscow time.

This happened on Bolshaya Tatarskaya Street, when the human rights activist came out of the entrance, clarifies Life News . Anshakov told the publication that the attacker followed him and began to beat him when he was convinced that there was no one around. The human rights activist does not know this person.

In October, an administrative case was initiated against Anshakov under the article “libel.” He was accused of spreading false information about the leadership of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior Foundation. The magistrate's office of the Savelovsky District Court acquitted the chairman of the OZPP.

An administrative case against Anshakov was initiated by the decision of the First Deputy Prosecutor of Moscow Kozlov based on the results of checking the publication on the OZPP website. The publication asked law enforcement officers to find out exactly how the temple fund works, which human rights activists suspected of inappropriate expenses. The Foundation complained that all the information in this publication was presented in an affirmative form, they contained an accusation of fraud and thus fell under the article of libel and discredited the reputation of the Foundation.

The representative of the fund, Marina Pronina, told the court that religious and general cultural buildings and premises are not rented, as the OZPP believes, and the dry cleaner, parking lot and other similar organizations on the territory of the temple are self-sufficient and even transfer part of the profits to the fund. Regular checks by tax authorities did not reveal any violations. “The agreement, according to which 7% of the area or a little more is allocated for one’s own religious needs, regulates a different subject,” said fund representative Sergei Semenenko. “In fact, more space is allocated for religious activities, Anshakov made a substitution of concepts.”

The defendants stated in court that “every Muscovite knows that a business center with car washes actually operates on the territory of the temple,” but in the publication on the website this was expressed in the form of an assumption and a call for law enforcement to conduct an investigation. Anshakov added that this year 373 million rubles. was transferred to the fund from the Moscow treasury, but at the same time commercial establishments continue to operate on the territory of the temple. In support of its words, the OZPP submitted to the court the decision of the Khamovnichesky Court of Moscow on the company’s claim against the temple, which indicated the ratio of the areas occupied by various organizations on the territory of the temple. Anshakov noted that representatives of the OPP have the right and even must, according to the charter, report information about what violations of consumer rights they have discovered and what they are doing in connection with this, therefore the publication disputed by the fund is legal.
