Dear Mr. President!
We contact you in the form of an open letter.
We do not consider this form correct in communicating with authorities.
We believe that the voter has the right to express his position through the voting procedure.
But we are talking about irreparable actions and the inability to ignore obvious, unmotivated evil committed against the most defenseless part of society.
We want to talk about children.
There is nothing worse for a child than an orphanage.
No matter how wonderful he is.
No matter what country you are in.
There is nothing worse than living and growing up without mom and dad.
Mom and dad have no nationality.
Mom and dad are stateless.
Mom and dad are more important than the Motherland and patriotism.
Mom and dad are just a child’s happiness.
And if the child is happy, he will grow up to be a good person.
A child needs his parents, he needs him like air.
Each of us, becoming a parent, knows this special feeling of fear for our lives that appears only at this moment, a special sense of responsibility - after all, the happiness of your child depends on your life and health.
The worst thing is to think that your child will be left alone.
Thousands of children find new families every year. All those who take these children from orphanages - all these people deserve only encouragement. All these people are heroes. It doesn't matter what languages they speak, they are just kind, compassionate PEOPLE. All these people are a chance for happiness for a child.
Now the number of these chances for Russian children will be significantly reduced.
Thousands of our children will be deprived of the opportunity to find a family - after all, there are very few people in the world who are ready to take this responsible step. And they should be valued at their weight in gold. Regardless of their citizenship.
Yes, there are tragedies. But there are not fewer of them, but much more of them happen in Russia. Much more...
Mr. President!
Nothing, nothing can justify depriving a child of a CHANCE. A chance to find a mom and dad. We are young parents ourselves.
We sincerely cannot bear to think about the cruelty committed before our eyes by our country towards its unfortunate children.
A country that is ready to sacrifice the happiness of its children in the name of abstract values and out of falsely understood patriotism makes us wonder: shouldn’t we protect our baby from such a country?
We ask you not to sign this law.
We ask you to leave hope for orphans.
And maintain faith in the reason and integrity of our state and in us.
