In October, Shatz and his wife TV presenter Tatyana Lazarev were elected to the Constitutional Court of the opposition on a general -degree list. Shatz took 8th place with 30.6 thousand votes, Lazarev-11th, gaining 28.7 thousand votes.
As part of the KS, Shats and Lazarev joined the "group of citizens". Among the politicians included in this faction, Sergey Parkhomenko, Dmitry Bykov, Ksenia Sobchak. Together with the "Group of Navalny" they opposed the radical wing of the Constitutional Court, rejecting the need for a revolution and making a bet on reforming the regime in the course of cooperation with it.
