Putin promised to increase pensions for disabled children

President Vladimir Putin promised to increase social pensions for disabled children to 8,704 rubles from January 1, 2013. This was reported by the former head of the Ministry of Health and Social Development, and now presidential assistant Tatyana Golikova.

“This is approximately equivalent to a 20 percent increase, and this means that the social pension of a disabled child will be higher than the subsistence level. Of course, I am talking about the average subsistence level in the Russian Federation,” the presidential aide emphasized to reporters in Chelyabinsk on Friday.

According to Golikova, the government will figure out how to increase the amount of compensation to parents and people who care for disabled children under 18 years of age.
