The authorities of Kalmykia plan to create a regional Agency for Strategic Investments next year, the press service of the head of the republic reported.
“By analogy with the Federal Agency for Strategic Investments, we must create a specialized structure that will take over the implementation of investment projects and will be completely controlled by the public,” the press service quotes the head of Kalmykia, Alexei Orlov.
It is planned that the regulatory framework for the future agency will be prepared by the end of February next year.
In particular, the main functions of the regional Agency for Strategic Investments will be increasing the investment attractiveness of the region, developing promising areas, creating project teams, as well as systemic support for ongoing investments.
As Anatoly Kozachko, Chairman of the Parliament of Kalmykia, told the Interfax agency, in accordance with changes to the republican budget for the current year, budgetary allocations for the investment fund of the republic in the amount of 800 million rubles were approved as part of the 2012 budget expenditures.
“The procedure for the formation and provision of budgetary allocations for the investment fund of Kalmykia is determined by the government of the republic,” A. Kozachko clarified.
