Modification of the Airpower of the Red Wings, which crashed near the Vnukovo Moscow airport on the Kiev highway-Tu-204-100, the Ministry of Emergencies. This aircraft is the first modification from the entire series. According to the plans of the designers, the plane was supposed to replace another passenger ship-Tu-154 on airlines. The maximum capacity of the "hundredth" modification is 210 people.

The first flight of the Tu-204 was committed on January 2, 1989, launched into operation in 2005. According to June, 72 aircraft were produced, of which 51 are operated, the rest are in stock. At the same time, in the operation of the Russian airline Red Wings are 9 Tu-204-100 aircraft. In the future, the company planned to increase their number to 28 units, including modernized Tu-204cm.

Previously, the Federal Air Transport Agency already had claims to this aircraft. So, in December 2012, he drove beyond the runway in Novorossiysk. Then four crew members received wounds of varying severity. The plane was destroyed and did not submit restoration.
