Emergencies due to wolves are introduced in Yakutia

The head of Yakutia, Yegor Borisov, proposed introducing an emergency regime in the republic in connection with an increase in the number of wolf attacks on pets, the press service of the president and the government of the region reports on Sunday.

Starting from January 15, a three -month period to combat wolves will be announced in the republic. Profile ministries and departments were instructed to form specialized teams of wolf hunters and provide them with everything necessary for successful hunting. In addition to monetary rewards for each skin obtained, three special bonuses will be installed for the best wolf cubs of the republic, the amount of which will be six -digit amount, Interfax reports.

It is also noted that the wolf hunting season in Yakutia will be open all year round. The shooting wolves will be canceled when the number of wolves will decrease to 500 individuals.

At the moment, the number of wolves in Yakutia exceeds 3.5 thousand. According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Yakutia in 2012, 313 herds and 16 thousand 111 home deer fell through the fault of wolves. Serious damage to wolves is also inflicted by the population of wild animals.

According to experts, one of the main reasons for the increase in the number of wolf attacks on pets was the reduction in the number of their main fodder resource - a hare -white hare in the main habitats of wolf flocks. As a result of this, mass migration of wolves began in the central regions of the republic, as well as for deer pastures.
