Celentano turns 75

Popular Italian musician, film actor and composer Adriano Celentano celebrates his 75th birthday today.

In honor of his birthday, Celentano gave his fans a gift - he posted on his blog on the official website a never-before-published video of a screen test for his role in the film “They Went East” directed by Giuseppe De Santis. Then the actor successfully passed the audition, but because of his wife, he refused to film.

By the time of the screen test, Celentano had just formalized his marriage to actress Claudia Mori. He still lives with her in a happy marriage in a villa in Galbiate at the foot of Monte Barro, where he continues his creative activity. Mori and Celentano have three children.

Celentano is one of the most successful and influential performers of popular music in Italy and, perhaps, the most famous Italian artist in Russia. Celentano's 1984 song Susanna is still played on Russian radio stations with enviable consistency. Throughout his career, he released 41 studio albums with a total circulation of 150 million, but did not stop there. Celentano continues his work even now.

In addition to music, Celentano is also known in cinema; he starred in 40 films. The films “The Taming of the Shrew” (1980), “Bluff” (1976), “Madly in Love” (1981) and others are popular among Soviet and Russian viewers.

In 2007, Celentano topped the list of "100 Brightest Movie Stars" according to Time Out magazine.
