French actor Gerard Depardieu, who has received a Russian passport, will receive an offer to join the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
This was announced by State Duma deputy, first secretary of the Moscow city committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Valery Rashkin.
“I intend today, or at least tomorrow, on Saturday, to send a letter to Gerard Depardieu with a proposal to join the Communist Party following the example of his father, whom he, in his own words, respects very much,” Rashkin told Interfax on Friday. Having citizenship of the Russian Federation, Depardieu may well become a member of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Rashkin believes.

Today it became known that Depardieu could become an “honorary Udmurt.” This title was proposed to be awarded to the actor by Envil Kasimov, a local deputy. Kasimov became famous after he announced on the Internet his desire to change his gender and become, as he wrote, “an old grumpy woman.”
