Brigitte Bardot admitted that she has no plans to move to Russia

French actress Brigitte Bardot admitted that she is not going to move to Russia because of the elephants with tuberculosis.

“I have no intention of leaving my country, it was just a way to kick the ass of the French government, which does not respond to my signals. It turned out to be useful,” Bardot said in an interview with the Swiss newspaper Le Matin .

Last week, Bardot published an open letter in which she wrote that she was ready to ask for Russian citizenship and “flee a country that is turning into an animal cemetery.” The actress, who is actively involved in animal protection, demanded that the French authorities save two elephants from the Lyon Zoo from death.

The elephants fell ill with tuberculosis, for this reason, at the end of December 2012, it was decided to euthanize them so that they would not infect people. Bardot asked French President Francois Hollande to save the elephants, but the request did not find a response. So Bardot turned to Vladimir Putin in 2011, when he was still prime minister of Russia. Bardot thanked Putin for banning seal hunting in Russia.
