Golden Globes handed out in Los Angeles

The Golden Globe Film Awards, the most prestigious award after the Oscars, were presented for the 70th time in Los Angeles. The ceremony, which took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, was performed by actresses Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Sacha Baron Cohen, Bill Clinton, Robert Downey Jr., Julia Roberts took part in the distribution of the globes.

The prize for best dramatic film went to the film "Operation Argo" - about the events that took place in Tehran in 1979 at the height of the Islamic revolution. The author of the film, Ben Affleck, was recognized as the best director. "Love" directed by Michael Haneke was named best foreign film.

Daniel Day-Lewis (Lincoln) won the title of Best Drama Actor, and Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) was named Best Actress. Best Supporting Actor: Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained).

Best Musical: "Les Miserables" by Tom Hooper. The same musical received several more awards: “Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical” was recognized by Hugh Jackman, “Best Supporting Actress” by Anne Hathaway. Actress Jennifer Lawrence, who played in the film “My Boyfriend Is Psycho,” became the best actress among the comedy genre.

Quentin Tarantino won the prize for best screenplay for Django Unchained. Among the animated films, the Golden Globe went to “Braveheart” by Mark Andrews.

The award for best music went to Michael Dann, who composed the soundtrack for the film Life of Pi. The best song was awarded to Skyfall performed by Adele in the Bond film 007: Skyfall.

“Girls” won in the category “Best Comedy or Musical Series”; actress Lena Dunham, who played in it, also received a Golden Globe.

"Stranger Among Our Own" was named the best drama series. Claire Danes was recognized as the best actress in a drama series, and Damian Lewis was recognized as the best actor for his role in “Stranger Among Our Own.”

“The Game Has Changed” won in the category “Best TV Movie or Mini-Series.” Best Actor in a TV Movie or Miniseries went to Kevin Costner for his role in “Hatfields and McCoys,” and best actress went to Julianne Moore from “Game Change.” Maggie Smith (Downton Abbey) won best supporting actress.

Actress Jodie Foster received a special honorary Golden Globe.
