The preliminary economic results of the year look satisfactory , but the slowdown in economic growth “instills anxiety,” said President Vladimir Putin, RIA Novosti reports
Summing up the year, he recalled that according to the mayor, GDP growth in January -November amounted to 3.5%, a “stable situation in the field of finance” was noted, the budget was executed without a shortage, the reserves increased, inflation was 6.6%, the real salary over 11 months increased by 8.8%, investments for the same period - by 8.4%in annual calculus.

“However, there are problems. Against the backdrop of these positive trends, the galloping dynamics of economic indicators during the year is alarming. There are no final figures for December yet, perhaps they will be more encouraging, but the results of November instill some concern. According to the Ministry of Economic Development, the annual GDP growth is slowed down,” the president said, speaking at a meeting on economic issues.
Putin recalled that the volatility of the ruble's course is already becoming familiar: "It must directly say his position, it has a positive side, such a state of affairs, since such a fluctuation in the course allows a high degree to isolate the situation in the real sector of the economy from the actions of financial speculators."
According to him, the lull that has occurred in the global economy may be temporary: "Now many ambush have already been overcome, have already been completed, but experience shows that the upbringing can only be temporary, and we must also be ready for this," the president said.
Putin considers it necessary to analyze whether the possibilities of stimulating demand in the economy of the Russian Federation or in these measures against the background of a recession in Europe are really exhausted. "Some experts believe that in such conditions, demand support is less effective and does not so much to increase in output, but to increase in prices. Therefore, it is proposed not to be carried away by stimulating demand, but to create conditions for investments," Putin said.
