A Kursk policeman killed a pensioner at a pedestrian crossing
In the Oktyabrsky district of the Kursk region, a police officer hit and killed an elderly woman, the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on Wednesday.
The accident occurred the day before on the Kursk-Lgov-Rylsk highway near the village of Pryamitsyno. A VAZ-21120 car driven by an employee of the private security department hit a 62-year-old woman who was crossing the road at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. The pensioner died on the spot from her injuries.
The report notes that the policeman was driving a personal car during his off-duty time.
The incident is being investigated. If the policeman is confirmed guilty, he will be dismissed from law enforcement agencies. His immediate superiors will be subject to strict disciplinary action.
