Nemtsov hopes for judge Syrova

The Khamovnichesky Court of Moscow decided to postpone until February 5 the consideration of Boris Nemtsov’s complaint regarding the inaction of the investigative authorities in the case of wiretapping his telephone conversations, which appeared in the public domain on the Internet. It was decided to postpone the trial, as the prosecutor petitioned to obtain documents necessary for the trial.

The Khamovnichesky Court of Moscow on Thursday, January 17, will hold a hearing on the complaint of Boris Nemtsov, who stated the inaction of the investigative authorities.

At the end of 2011, the Internet tabloid LifeNews published several audio recordings of Boris Nemtsov’s telephone conversations, totaling about six hours. In these recordings, Nemtsov spoke in insulting terms about Evgenia Chirikova, Alexei Venediktov, Bozhena Rynsk, Boris Akunin, Leonid Parfenov and others. Then he apologized to them on his LiveJournal. A criminal case was opened in connection with the wiretapping of conversations that appeared in the public domain on the Internet. However, there are still no results of the investigation.

Boris Nemtsov, co-chairman of the RPR-Parnas party, told PublicPost the story of the investigation:

“Today there will be a trial called “Nemtsov vs. Bastrykin.” There will be a second court hearing. A year ago, on January 30, 2012, under pressure from the public and deputy Ilya Ponomarev, a criminal case was opened on the fact of “wiretapping.” I was recognized as a victim - this is very important. Article - 138. According to it, the criminals face four years of imprisonment. By criminals, I mean the Gabrelyanovs - Aram (director of the News Media holding, which includes LifeNews - editor's note) and Ashot (chief editor of LifeNews - editor's note).

The case was assigned to the investigator for especially important cases, Denis Savelyev. He is a young guy, advanced, deeply knowledgeable about the issue. We met with him several times. He got down to business, interviewed, according to my estimates, about a hundred people. He only interrogated me three times. I tried my best. Last spring, he summoned the Gabrelyanovs for questioning, and they both came, these assholes. The investigator interrogated them. After that, the incredible happened: the case simply disappeared.

I called the investigator in the summer: “Denis, what happened? Why did the investigation stop? You don’t call me and don’t question others.” He answered me: “Dear Mr. Nemtsov, the case was confiscated from me. I was removed from the case.” I started to find out where the case went because the investigator didn’t tell me anything. By the way, he was promoted. I don't communicate with him now.

In the summer and fall, we looked for this case with my lawyer Vladimir Prokhorov: we looked for letters and called. With incredible difficulty, we managed to obtain a certificate stating that the case was in the northeastern department of the Investigative Committee of Russia. There we were unable to find out who had the file. I wrote an appeal to Bastrykin, he ignored it. We filed a lawsuit against Bastyrkin. To the Khamovnichesky Court.

By the way, this case was taken up by the judge who judged Pussy Riot (Marina Syrova - editor's note). The first meeting took place before the New Year. Amazingly, the judge was indignant that the case had disappeared and no one was looking into it; moreover, she was supported by the prosecutor. The judge surprised me - like an ordinary formalist, she was not afraid of Gabrelyanov and was indignant. Everyone there was surprised. Now the Gabrelyanovs are probably running around like catechumens. They probably haven’t reached the Kremlin yet to give instructions to the judge.

As a result, these kids were obliged to provide documents about who was involved in this matter. Tomorrow there will be a trial about concealment - about concealing a crime by the Investigative Committee.

I have very big complaints against Gabrelyanov. But in order to present them, I need to find the case materials. Gabrelyanov works directly for Putin. The Investigative Committee received instructions to hush up the matter. We won't let you do this.

Now we have an incredible situation: the Investigative Committee is covering up the criminals and trying to close the case. Therefore, our task is to return the case, and then sort it out and find out.”

LifeNews editor-in-chief Ashot Gabrelyanov did not refuse to comment, but did not actually talk:

“To be honest, I already forgot about this case and about Nemtsov, because now there’s simply no time for it. Although from time to time I was summoned for some interrogations. We have so many court cases, heaps of these courts, I don’t really keep track of them. Only the key ones I keep track of the moments. And here I’m not even worried. Ksenia Sobchak was showing off, she promised to break us up. And what? The court proved that the truth is on our side.
