In my line of work I often have to communicate with people. People's reactions to charity are usually the same. I don’t say it directly because I’m embarrassed... Yes, yes, yes, my dears, good deeds are shameful. You can deny it, give examples, but it’s true.
All people are good, it’s just that the reaction is stereotypical. It is believed that now
a) drawn into a sect
b) will take up all your free time
c) they will shake out all the money
But about sects, this is complete nonsense. I am Orthodox, I believe in God, but I have no desire to go to church against the backdrop of what the Russian Orthodox Church is doing. Stupid, I agree. But somehow, very often you want to come just to sit and talk about worldly matters with God. About free time is self-deception; 99% of a busy person does not surf the Internet unless he is specifically busy. Charity events are held at most once a month, in my opinion, but more often is possible. Volunteer trips are the busiest in terms of free time, but again, this is a maximum of 3 days. Travel, by the way, is the most useful activity.
Money... no money for charity. Oh... The myth is indestructible. Although 100 rubles, for example, to the “ Creation ” fund, for me, is already a lot. You can donate things, we’re collecting books, write a comment with your opinion, click on a repost. Money is an important matter, but it is far from the goal. The purpose of true charity is to help.
I am a so-called hamster philanthropist. Give money, share connections, spread information, repost, coordinate actions. And there are super people - these are volunteers and funders, who are correct, of course. They treat me with suspicion, like a cloudy but useful pepper . It’s funny, especially when you see in your eyes the desire to know: “Where did you come from, Nidolov?!” :-) Just as people do not believe in the sincerity of philanthropists, philanthropists do not believe in the sincerity of those who help them. Although it's absolutely purple to me. :-)
In Rus' they do not believe in warmth and sincerity. Everywhere they see a cunning plan, it is there, but its cunning is that it is not there, but that is another topic.

The biggest advantage of charity is that it is like a litmus test. Characterizes a person well. More precisely, it allows you to see his horizons, breadth of interests, creativity, integrity, and contact. 90% of the Russian population either runs away screaming or tactfully merges. But you can already deal with the remaining 10%; in any case, they are interesting people. They have formed a citizen, have experience, and certain principles. They are adults and are not afraid to take responsibility.
