A picket took place in Voronezh against the law banning “homosexual propaganda”

Today, January 20, at 14:00 in Voronezh, a picket of opponents of the bill on the protection of homosexual propaganda, coordinated with government authorities, took place. However, along with the participants of the action, and there were 6 of them, about 150 people gathered on Nikitinskaya Square, expressing dissatisfaction and opposed to this event. The organizers had to stop it early due to the fact that the participants did not receive support from city residents, who sharply spoke out against what was happening.

To ensure the protection of public order during the event, 26 police officers were involved. There were no violations of public order. This situation was under special control of the leadership of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Voronezh Region.

However, before the start of the action in the Central District of Voronezh, one of the participants was beaten while moving to the venue. The police are conducting an investigation into this matter.

There were a lot of people. There are about 50 picketers and about 400 people dissatisfied with the picket. Shouts of “Beat the fags”, “Let’s protect Voronezh from roosters”, etc. were heard everywhere. The police officers were at their best, it was clear that they did not like this event. They were in no hurry to take action when they were hit with snowballs, aiming at the picketers , opponents threw snowballs at police. :-) The police report, to put it mildly, does not accurately reflect the events. By the way, the picket participants communicated with their offenders on the pages of the social network VKontakte... A closed group of picket organizers and an open group to counteract this event and movement in Voronezh. The slogan of the counteraction group is “Stop the picket of perverts in Voronezh!!!”

The result of this communication was a statement regarding threats to the life and health of the participants of the action and opposition to the holding of a public event to the Center for Combating Extremism, the city administration and the Investigative Committee.

The applicants quote one of the threats: "I will come. I will come and kill you. When this is all over and you go home, I will catch and smash the head of one of you."
