Chernyshenko: more than $1.3 billion of investment from partners of the Sochi 2014 Olympics was attracted by the Organizing Committee

The autonomous non-profit organization "Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee" notes the high level of partnership investment agreements in the preparation for the XXII Olympic and XI Paralympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi.

“It is now known that we have set an absolute record in the Olympic movement - we have attracted more than $1.3 billion in partner investments,” Dmitry Chernyshenko, president of the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee, told the Interfax-South agency on Tuesday in Sochi.

He noted that “80% of the games are financed from extra-budgetary sources.”

“The success of the Games depends on how effectively we implement our marketing policy,” D. Chernyshenko emphasized.

According to him, “there are already 43 companies as partners, 47 licensees in the 41st category.

“Only the best, the most successful cooperate with the number one project in our country (Olympics in Sochi in 2014 - IF), because they consider this cooperation as an investment (investment in the project - editor's note), and they receive a return on their investments from this cooperation,” added D. Chernyshenko.

Earlier it was reported that on January 22, the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee entered into a licensing agreement with the largest player in the Russian food retail market - X5 Retail Group, which became the 47th licensee.
