Agricultural producers of the Kurgan region in 2012 produced 70.3% of the physical volume of products compared to 2011, reports the press service of the department of agriculture and processing industry of the region.
Farms of all categories threshed 935.1 thousand tons of grain and leguminous crops in weight after processing (38.9% compared to the previous year). 190.5 thousand tons of potatoes (47.3%) were dug up, 128.5 thousand tons of vegetables (68.7%) were collected.
In 2012, the sown area of agricultural crops in all categories of farms amounted to 1.4 million hectares, which exceeds the level of 2011 by 0.1%.
The region's internal needs for food grains, potatoes and vegetables are 100% met. 362 thousand tons of grain from the 2011 harvest were sold for export.
According to the results of an examination by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the death of crops as a result of drought in 2012 was confirmed on an area of 359 thousand hectares on 548 farms. The total amount of damage is 3.1 billion rubles, including direct losses - 998 million rubles. Subsidies from the federal budget for drought amounted to 177.2 million rubles.
