About imaginary and real fascists

The other day, early in the morning, I woke up feeling a certain pungent and specific smell. Did it smell like spring? Alas, not at all. As the day progressed, the aroma, if I may say so, only intensified and intensified, it did not leave me either on public transport, or at work, or anywhere else... Then I finally bothered to look at the calendar and realized what was going on - There are less than two weeks left until the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad, so the flame of patriotism has already begun to ignite in the heavenly ether, spreading its pungent smell, so dangerous for all enemies of the Motherland.

There was especially a lot of fuss over the idea of ​​bringing the band Rammstein to the celebration ; for some reason some of our townspeople see this fact as blasphemy and almost propaganda of Nazism. Yes, let’s leave out what the musicians themselves think about this proposal and whether they even know about it; the reaction of some Volgograd residents and the organizers of this event is much more interesting.

“It seems to me that this would be a very good idea if a top German group performed the Soviet victorious patriotism in Russian. I believe that this is repentance, and it will sound especially strong ,” said the Surgeon (the author of this Idea) in an interview RSN ".

Strange, of course, “logic”... As far as I know, the group members were not members of the NSDAP and have nothing to do with the Reich at all - for they were born 15-20 years after the defeat of Hitler. And in general, this is a bad practice - to impose some kind of guilt on both others and oneself (some suggest that we all repent for Stalin). The crimes of the Stalinist regime are not my crimes, nor are they yours - it is unlikely that any of the readers of this post will be former NKVD employees. Another thing is that we should cleanse our thinking from the imprint that totalitarianism left on it - but, as a rule, there is no talk of this. We should think freely and independently, as far as we can, and most importantly, show independence in actions, and not be obedient cattle.

There is, of course, another version - the supposedly “fascist” character of Rammstien. Obviously, this opinion has its source in the fact that some on the far right like to listen to this group. Which, to put it mildly, cannot be called an argument - antifa also like to listen to Rammstein, this is a matter of taste, not politics.

Yes, there are provocative moments (as in the “Stripped” video, which used footage of the Nazi film director, by the way, very talented, Leni Riefenstahl) in the work of musicians - but art often requires provocations.

But overall, not very funny. While the “public” is busy with mythical “fascism” and attempts to force the Germans to repent for Adik, in our country, in the minds of our teenagers, par excellence, brown flowers are growing wildly. And if the presence of a swastika at a religious procession also causes some indignation, then the waving of nationalist banners at the same event is perceived quite calmly . As well as the constant murders by the ultra-right - not German, from the time of the Third Reich, but ours - domestic and modern. Modern, real successors of the NSDAP cause kill janitors and chess players, lawyers and journalists, and many others. But it’s better not to pay attention to it, otherwise it will become sad. It’s much more pleasant to revel in patriotic pathos and fight with the music...

PS The other day there was another event - January 19, the next anniversary of the death of anti-fascists Stanislav Markelov and Anastasia Baburova, victims of Nazism - not “Russian”, but Nazism in general - because the criminal has no nationality.
