The Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS) allowed Bashneft to acquire 25.00025% of the shares of the United Petrochemical Company (UNK) and thus increase its share to 100%, RIA Novosti reports with reference to a FAS message.

Bashneft and Petrochemical Holding agreed in September 2011 to create a joint United Petrochemical Company. The authorized capital of the created joint venture was paid in cash in the amount of €10 million in proportion to the shares of the participants. Bashneft owns 74.99% of the joint venture, and Petrochemical Holding GmbH - just over 25%.

The main owner of Bashneft is AFK Sistema owned by Vladimir Yevtushenkov (No. 21 on the list of the richest businessmen in Russia, worth $6 billion). The Petrochemical Holding company is owned by Yakov Goldovsky (No. 113 on the list of the richest businessmen in Russia, worth $850 million).

At the end of December, the FAS issued a similar permit to AFK Sistema.

Currently, the general director of POC is Goldovsky. In July 2012, the Board of Directors of the United Petrochemical Company was headed by Felix Yevtushenkov, the son of the main owner of AFK Sistema, Vladimir Yevtushenkov. Also on the board of directors of POC is former Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov.

The company's main goal is to become one of the three largest Russian petrochemical companies in terms of sales volume. The promising target product portfolio of PMC consists of the 6 most common polymers (polyethylene, polypropylene, polycarbonate, polyethylene terephthalate, polyurethanes and polymethyl methacrylate), as well as final products made from them (packaging, cord threads and fabrics, construction products, organic glass, optics, etc. ).

Bashneft specializes in oil production in Bashkiria, Western Siberia and the Orenburg region. Has licenses for subsoil areas in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, including large deposits named after Trebs and Titov. It supplies oil both to the domestic market and for export. The company also includes processing assets and a network of gas stations.
