ATS check day

On January 26, Russia will host the " Verification Day ". The action is held as part of the civil participation campaign in the police control, the organizers of which are the international youth human rights movement, the Center for Transpenser Internet - P and the United Group of Public Surveillance (Light) with the support of the Moscow Helsinki group.

Applications on the holding of the action were submitted in 15 cities of Russia, where activists and caring citizens intend to leave police sections. In addition to Moscow, these are Astrakhan, Belgorod, Vladimir, Voronezh, Vyborg, Volgograd, Irkutsk, Yoshkar-Ola, Kaluga, Kirov, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Novocherkassk, Saratov and Tyumen.

Activists will check:

• the simplicity of the police officers (the presence of pointers, etc.);

• accessibility (the ability to enter freely);

• internal information support of the department (the presence of a correctly designed information stand, hotline contacts for complaints about police officers, etc.);

• The politeness of police officers.

All this information will start new campaigns - on the promotion and reform of the hot line, the availability of police branches, and internal equipment of the branches with information and other materials.
