The Government of the Russian Federation did not support the bill of deputies from the LDPR, allowing citizens to use firearms of rifled short -barreled weapons to protect themselves and their loved ones in case of illegal penetration and encroachment on their lives in their own house.

As RIA Novosti recalls, in August last year the corresponding bill was submitted to the State Duma. According to him, permission to acquire and store such weapons is supposed to be issued to citizens who have reached the age of 23, on the basis of a license provided by the internal affairs body. At the same time, the bill establishes a ban on the free wearing of a firearm rifled short -barreled weapon.

The government, having rejected the initiative, noted that the currently permitted types of civilian self -defense weapons effectively and successfully serve to achieve self -defense goals. "In addition, the situation with offenses committed using firearms of limited defeat (self -defense weapons), including the legal basis, continues to be extremely alarming," the statement said.

The plans for the State Duma aimed at the legalization of firearms of short-barreled weapons in Russia, the first vice-speaker of the Federation Council Alexander Torshin, to the State Duma. At the end of July, he stated that he did not intend to rush and plans to introduce a modified document to the parliament "when he is ready and when his perception is ready."
