Before the elections, according to the general opinion of ordinary Israelis, as usual, a small victorious “war” - the Operation “Cloud Pillar” - with a small number of victims, six people from Israel and about 100 Gaza militants killed. About a month before, two influential political organizations-the right-hand Party of Netanyahu Likud and the Russian-speaking “Our House of Israel”, chaired by Avigdor Lieberman, a native of Soviet Moldova, at that time the Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced the association and decision to go to the elections by the Unified List-Baenu list. This tandem, obviously, was supposed to become a support for Netanyahu's rating falling down - a faithful Avigdor saved his friend Bibi with his guards. The people of the Union of two experienced politicians dubbed Bieberman, drain their names in one word. And the Internet flew around the “photojab” - from two photographs, one face foisted.

And here is the result - 31 out of 120 in parliament, although before the elections they declared 48 possible mandates. Analysts talk about the obvious defeat of the ruling block.

Hamas hurried to record this result by the “Palestinian victory over Israel” in November. The press secretary of the movement Abu Zukhri himself said that voting to the Knesset is a competition between parties that deny Palestinian rights. The Arab population of Israel did not show an active interest in the elections. The League of the Arab states specially turned to civil conscience and solidarity calling for polling stations. Arabs voted lazily and reluctantly. The result is 11 mandates for all Arab parties in the Knesset.

In general, the current parliament was clearly divided into almost equal shares: 61st place - right, 59 - left. But the goals of the "Likud-Bamiten" have been achieved: the coalition has a parliamentary majority. Both Netanyahu and Lieberman remain in business. The first for another four years remains the head of government, the second expects to again take the post of Foreign Minister.

Fresh blood

In general, in Israeli society, the need for the change of old leaders and the appearance of fresh names in the political arena has risen. Dissatisfaction with the results of a military operation, increasing housing prices, high cost of life, an indefinite position in the issue of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict forced many Israeli to cast their votes in favor of new “stars” at the Israeli political sky.

And in this sense, the second place in the parliament (19 mandates) representing the interests of the middle class of the Esh Atid party (“there is a future”)-according to the results of voting in the bourgeois Tel Aviv, the party came even in the first place-quite naturally.

For the right to form a coalition with the “esh atide”, both left and right began to fight immediately.

The first after the election with Yair Lapid, he spoke Netanyahu: “We have the opportunity to do important things together for Israel,” the prime minister said.

Many guess what briefcase the handsome man will receive, the star of the screen Yair Lapid from the hands of the veteran of Bibi. They talk about several options: the Minister of Education, Finance ... Lieberman at one of the press conferences said that the role of the Minister of the Interior is most suitable for Lapida. Indeed, the party’s program raises the issues of the country's inner life and the urgent needs of citizens.

Netanyahu, chairman of the oldest Avoda Left Working Party, managed to coalition with Lapida and Yarai, and a yarai opponent. She "grabbed" for 19 mandates of Lapid, as for a saving straw. “I would like to congratulate Yair Lapid on incredible success in the elections,” she said, “I urge him to use this achievement and create another government coalition.”

Yakhimovich expected to persuade his colleague to create a left “blocking front” in Knesset, which would interfere with the formation of the right government. But Lapid disappointed the left and strongly stated that with them "there would be no block ..."

Another winner is the ultra-right Naphtili Bennett, the chairman of the Bait Yudy National-religious Party (Jewish House)-it is already considered as a serious competitor to the ultra-religious Orthodox Party "Shas", whose head Eli Ishi, occupies the post of Minister of Internal Affairs today. What Bennett proposes is truly revolutionary for Israel, where a religious dictate acts not only at the legislative level, but also reserves the right to intervene in the private life of citizens. “Life has changed,” Bennetus proclaims, “it is necessary to revise all the controversial issues in relations between religion and the state: universal military duty, the institution of marriage, the autonomy of religious schools from the state, the work of public transport on Saturdays.”

5 principles

One way or another, Benjamin Netanyahu has already announced the principles on the basis of which he intends to form a wide coalition: the country's security and control over Iran’s nuclear program, financial stability against the background of the global financial crisis, political responsibility and maintaining the world in the region, equal distribution of burden in society, universal military service, reducing the cost of life and affordable housing.
