The Novosibirsk writer Vladimir Bereyazev for the first time became the laureate of the Anton Delvig large literary prize in the nomination “Poetry” for the edition of the Anthology “Poets of Siberian Lights”, the representative of the Organizing Committee of the Prize told Taiga.info on January 28.

According to him, a prize of 500,000 rubles and the “silver medal of Delvig” was awarded to the compiler, the chief editor of the literary journal “Siberian Lights” Vladimir Bereyazev for the release of the anthology “Poets of Siberian Lights” - “For the fidelity of the classical tradition of Russian poetry and the creative development of Eurasian ideas”, the interlocutor said.

The Delviga Prize was established on October 1, 2012 by the Literary Gazeta - the oldest periodic publication of Russia, and was named after the Russian poet - the first publisher of the newspaper, classmate Alexander Pushkin.

In total, the first three prizes of 1 million rubles each, six second bonuses of 500,000 rubles and four Debut awards were established for 250,000 rubles. Currently, Delviga Prize is the largest Russian literary prize with the size of the premium fund of 7.5 million rubles.

The “gold medals of Delvig” and 1 million rubles were received as the first prize by the writer Magomed Akhmedov (Dagestan) for poems of recent years, Vladimir Lichutin (Arkhangelsk) for the book “Soul inevitable” and Maria Semenov (St. Petersburg) for the Historical and Heroic cycle about Wolfhound.
