On February 8, 2013, on the day of Russian science, in the science city of Troitsk, now often called the "capital of the New Moscow", a solemn ceremony of the winners of the contest "Man of the Year - 2012" will be held.
The award was established in Troitsk in 2009. Every year, people who have made a significant contribution to the development of the city are awarded the title of “Man of the Year” and rewarded with a symbolic figurine. Winners are determined by the secret vote of expert councils, which include well -known and authoritative in their fields of activity residents of Troitsk.
Recall that the Day of Russian Science has been celebrated in Russia since 1999 and is dedicated to the date of the founding of the Russian Academy of Sciences, established by the command of Emperor Peter I of January 28 (February 8 in a new style) of 1724.
This year, the fourth prize “Man” is coming already and it takes place in the new conditions: Troitsk has become part of Moscow. The organizers believe that this event will not only prevent the competition, but also increase the prestige of the award.
