During the hearing in the Senate, Clinton lost her temper after one of the parliamentarians about why the State Department "tried to hide the attack, hiding him behind the demonstrations." After the question, Clinton hit the table four times and stated that the question was not relevant. “There is a lot of work ahead, and we will do everything so that this does not happen again,” she said.

Against Rice played a speech in which she claimed that the murder of the American ambassador of Stevens was not a planned terrorist attack. The Republicans later accused Rice of deliberate lies during the 2012 election campaign.

The stay of John Keria as the head of the State Department, which will begin on February 1, will rather benefit Russian-American relations.
