In the new version of the WADA Code, the control sample “B” was left, the standard disqualification for the first violation was increased to four years, and the statute of limitations for initiating cases was extended to 10 years, and in some cases up to 14.

Natalia Zhelynova, head of the anti -doping department of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, in an interview with the whole sport agency, identified several main points that were discussed at a meeting in Strasbourg.

“In the new version of the WADA Code, it is directly fixed that testing can be carried out anywhere at any time any anti -doping organization with jurisdiction over the athlete,” DELIVA said. “The standard term for the first violation is increased to four years, except for a number of exceptions. The system for proof of negligence and intention to reduce sanction is complicated.”

According to Dolinova, all the results of the athlete achieved during the disqualification period will be canceled even in the case of retroactive disqualification. The statute of limitations for initiating the case instead of the current eight years has been extended to 10 for the presence and use of prohibited drugs, and according to other disorders of anti-doping rules (for example, for prescription or distribution)-up to 14.

The interlocutor of the agency also noted that when discussing the new edition of the WADA Code, proposals sounded to remove the control sample “B”, but this caused many discussions of all interested parties, and they decided to leave the control sample.
